I learn new, hands-on concepts that I find myself using at the office on a daily basis.
In our ARCS Fund E-Z training sessions, Hilda quickly assessed the capabilities of our small accounting staff and communicated at each of those levels. She enhanced their fiscal knowledge and improved their use of the accounting system as a more efficient management tool.
I’ve also seen Hilda’s presentations to larger groups on the topic of assessing an organization’s fiscal infrastructure. By sending out detailed surveys to the participants ahead of time, she was very prepared and very effective in communicating to people from many organizations with a variety of needs. Each time I attend one of Hilda’s workshops I learn new, hands-on concepts that I find myself using at the office on a daily basis.

Many financial consultants deliver services and they do it well. However, what most fail to realize is that the financial component of any client's administration goes hand-in-hand with how well the client can deliver its own services. Without good financial management, Iris House wouldn't be able to raise money, continue our programs, and serve our community.

We now have a blueprint specifically designed for our organization that assists senior management in operating more efficiently and in optimizing our limited existing resources.
I am writing to express our appreciation for the ongoing and generous support that The Robin Hood Foundation as a funder has provided to Common Ground and to thank you for arranging to have Hilda Polanco (FMA) review Common Ground's Finance Office and the associated support operations.
As a consummate professional, Hilda has demonstrated her talent as both a financial consultant and a diplomat in the not-for-profit world. We found her extremely adept in balancing the organizational needs of Common Ground with the individual strengths and weaknesses of our staff. A potentially uneasy relationship between Hilda and the financial managers and staff was, in fact, just the opposite. Everyone appreciated her openness, intelligence, understanding, and active participation in the process.

Our taxes for the fiscal year ending June 2001 are officially signed, notarized and going out in tomorrow's mail. This would not have happened if it hadn't been for your FMA team.
I came into my position with no working knowledge of taxes or the fiscal needs of an organization other than rudimentary bookkeeping, and your patience and kindness went above and beyond any of our expectations. With your help, I am now more knowledgeable and organized and ready to file FLI's next set of tax returns.
I also want to thank The Robin Hood Foundation for the funding and FMA for the opportunities for continued training in the Fund EZ program, which will help us with fund raising and budgets. It is comforting to know that you are aware that most of us are not accountants.
