Our Services: Nonprofit Accounting Software
"In our FUND E-Z training sessions, FMA quickly assessed the capabilities of our small accounting staff and communicated at each of those levels. FMA enhanced our fiscal knowledge and improved our use of the accounting system as a more efficient management tool."

Efficient, effective software systems make complying with complex financial reporting requirements an easier task. FMA can assist in configuring your system for maximum benefit. We will help you identify and evaluate software products, work with you through the selection process, implement the selected software, train your staff, and provide ongoing support.

Our experienced team of accounting and systems professionals can help you select the right tools to track and evaluate your program work so that you can demonstrate its successes to your board and funders. To design the most appropriate financial reporting system for your organization, we will meet with you to review and discuss your current funding and program structure. We can then fine-tune your chart of accounts, pinpoint your exact needs, and meet your stakeholders' reporting requirements.

Our experience working with the FUND E-Z accounting and financial reporting system has led us to view it as one of the most effective accounting programs in its price range available to not-for-profits. FUND E-Z was designed to accomplish in an efficient and systematic manner:
  • Tracking government contracts and other restricted sources of revenue
  • Tracking revenues and expenses by individual programs
  • Monitoring budget-to-actual statistics by program
  • Automatically allocating costs across programs
  • Monitoring and recording contributions through an integrated donor tracking module
FMA consultants have always stressed the importance of using an appropriate software system to effectively manage the accounting and financial reporting needs of a not-for-profit organization. At the same time, we realize that many smaller organizations do not have the resources to invest in and maintain a true fund-based accounting package. For some smaller organizations, QuickBooks® can be an acceptable solution – if it is used appropriately. In order to better serve these organizations FMA now has three consultants on staff who are certified QuickBooks® Pro Advisors, experts in configuring QuickBooks® to work for basic nonprofit accounting and reporting needs.

We also support other software packages widely used by not-for-profits, including:

  • Microsoft Great Plains
  • Peachtree
  • Kintera FundWare
  • MIP Fund Accounting
  • Blackbaud Financial Edge
