A national initiative developed by the member firms of the Not-for-Profit Services Association, CNAP sets a new standard for financial management knowledge and performance through comprehensive qualification, training and examination.

With a focus on process as well as product, the CNAP program assists financial managers to organize and produce the financial information necessary for accurate reporting and sound management. CNAP participants learn practical techniques that can be applied right away in their day-to-day work.

The CNAP Program: Fall 2006 - New York City (Limited Enrollment)

When:
The program is delivered in 2 phases held 4 weeks apart

Phase 1: October 18 & 19, 2006 (1½ -day session)
Phase 2: November 15 & 16, 2006 (2-day session)

All sessions run from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (except October 19, which ends at 1:30 pm)

Where:
Baruch College on Lexington Avenue at 24th Street in Manhattan.

Registration & Fees for CNAP Fall 2006 - New York City

Class size is limited to 25 participants

Save 10% if you register before September 15, 2006.

Cost is $840.00 (includes registration, tuition and meals)

After September 15th, cost is $935.00 (includes registration, tuition and meals)

Each CNAP participant is required to have 18 months’ experience in a financial position within a not-for-profit organization. When you mail in your registration form, you will need to attach a letter signed by your employer, verifying your employment and confirming that you have the required experience working in the finance department of a nonprofit.

The Curriculum
CNAP’s curriculum provides an overview of not-for-profit financial accounting, including:

  • effective fiscal systems
  • budgeting for not-for-profit organizations
  • internal controls - accounting and financial policies and procedures
  • preparing not-for-profit financial statements
  • not-for-profit accounting and tax issues
  • understanding the role of the independent certified public accountant

There is an examination at the end of each phase. To gain certification, participants must attend all sessions and pass both examinations.
