On Feb. 9th, 2011, Fiscal Management Associates, LLC and the Wallace Foundation presented a special morning focused on exploring Success Stories of Nonprofit Mergers & Collaborations.

A diverse panel of participants discussed the national trends in the nonprofit industry, the various approaches to effecting a merger, and key steps for a successful nonprofit collaboration. The panel included Panel Wendy L. DuBoe, Chief Operating Officer at United Way of Metro Chicago, John MacIntosh, Partner at SeaChange Capital Partners, Stephan Russo Executive Director at Goddard Riverside Community Center, and Maria E. Wynne, Chief Executive Officer at Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana.

The addressed topics included strategies for identifying potential partners and strategic approaches to coordinating resources, tips for communicating your strategy with your Board and Funders, and lessons learned from around the nation.
